Gee Bee R1 Peerless – 12.5 in wingspan

$4.00

Peerless published this plan in 1934, just after the Gee Bee R1 won the Thompson Trophy race and set the world’s landplane speed record.  It’s still one of the most accurate scale model plans of the R1 ever done.
This is an advanced skill-level stick & tissue rubber powered flying scale model.  Move rear rubber peg up to just behind former 8 on fuselage side view and reinforce the Landing Gear attachment to the wing (see Tom Nallen Gee Bee E for example).  Fit removable noseblock/noseplug assembly and a modern 6 in plastic prop with 1 loop of 1/8 Tan rubber 15 inches long to start flight trimming.  This plan will scale up nicely for a larger model.

Qualifies to fly in FAC  Thompson Trophy mass launch, FAC Scale and FAC Golden Age Monoplane  events.
