Vought SB2U-3 Vindicator – 22.5in wingspan

$6.00

The Vought SB2U Vindicator was an aging dive bomber that provided valiant service in the decisive battle of Midway in WW2.  The Vindicator offers a great layout for a rubber powered flying scale model and this 22 1/2 inch wingspan model is built with box and formers fuselage construction.  Many color and markings options for the Vindicator are available – the 1941 VMS-1 Marine Corps prototype is represented on the plan.  If you plan to enter FAC WW2 Combat mass launch event competition, make sure you finish yours in a wartime operational color scheme such as at the battle of Midway.
Check out the product gallery for master modeler Lynn Morton’s SB2U Vindicator built from these plans and finished in pre-war colors and markings.
Qualifies to fly in FAC Scale, the WW2 Combat Mass Launch events.

Description

Designed by noted Free Flight sport and scale model airplane designer Tom Nallen, this black and white plan includes full-sized top, side and front views of all components such that they can be built directly over the plan.  Stick and sheet balsa stock dimensions are indicated on the plan and all sheet balsa parts are printed full-size for use as templates in cutting out accurate parts to construct the model framework.  This is an Intermediate/Advanced-level model to build and fly and is a good follow-on to a high wing monoplane rubber powered free flight scale, or sport model.

Model construction plan fits on a single Architectural D (24 x 36 inches)  sheet.
