Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter WW1 Fighter/Bomber – 20in wingspan

$6.00

The British WW1 Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter is a great layout for a rubber powered flying scale model and with a 20 inch wingspan, this design can be flown outdoors, or if built lightly, indoors as well.  Build the aft fuselage and tail surfaces lightly to minimize required nose weight and maximize flight performance.    The simple varnished linen color scheme is easily replicated with white Japanese tissue covering which is typically off-white in color.
Qualifies to fly in FAC Scale and World War 1 Mass Launch events.

Description

Designed by noted Free Flight sport and scale model airplane designer Tom Nallen, this black and white plan includes full-sized top, side and front views of all components such that they can be built directly over the plan.  Stick and sheet balsa stock dimensions are indicated on the plan and all sheet balsa parts are printed full-size for use as templates in cutting out accurate parts to construct the model framework.  This is an Intermediate/Advanced-level model to build and fly and is a good follow-on to a monoplane rubber powered free flight scale, or sport model.

Model construction plan fits on a single Architectural C (18 x 24 inches)  sheet.  Plan download or print options available.
