Polikarpov I-153 “Chaika” – 18in wingspan

This is a flying scale model of a Polikarpov I-153 fighter encountered in combat over Finland during February, 1940.   A striking red and green color scheme makes this unusual model stand out on the flightline.  This Chaika (Gull) model is an excellent flyer and has already won and placed in several FAC World War II mass launch events.

Digital download package includes two construction plan sheets with all patterns and templates,  full color tissue print patterns and a comprehensive scale documentation package.

Qualifies to fly in FAC Scale,  WW2 Combat Mass Launch, Golden Age Military, and Golden Age Multi-wing  events.

Designed by noted Free Flight sport and scale model airplane designer Tom Nallen, this black and white plan includes full-sized top, side and front views of all components such that they can be built directly over the plan.  Stick and sheet balsa stock dimensions are indicated on the plan and all sheet balsa parts are printed full-size for use as templates in cutting out accurate parts to construct the model framework.  This is an Intermediate level Free Flight Flying Scale model and fly.

The main model construction plan fits on a single Architectural C (18 x 24 inches)  sheet.  A second plan sheet with patterns and templates is included and prints on a single Legal sized (11 x 17 inches) sheet.  Color tissue print patterns are also provided as is a comprehensive scale documentation package.
