Speed Holman’s Laird Solution – 14in wingspan

$3.00

This is an excellent flying, true scale model of Charles “Speed” Holman’s 1930 Thompson Trophy winning Laird Solution.  With a straightforward keel and former fuselage construction, this iconic Golden Age Racer is one of the easier biplane models to assemble as the wings are mounted directly to the fuselage.  This “Solution” builds up to a big, yet compact model for its 14 inch wingspan, making it a good choice for small field flying.

The prototype model flew for many years in competition and for fun.  Qualifies to fly in FAC Thompson Trophy Mass Launch, FAC Scale and FAC Golden Age events.

Description

Designed by noted Free Flight sport and scale model airplane designer Tom Nallen, this black and white plan includes full-sized top, side and front views of all components such that they can be built directly over the plan.  Stick and sheet balsa stock dimensions are indicated on the plan and all sheet balsa parts are printed full-size for use as templates in cutting out accurate parts to construct the model framework.  This is an Intermediate-level model to build and fly and is a good follow-on to a high wing monoplane rubber powered free flight scale model.

Model construction plan fits on a single ARCH C (18 x 24 inch)  sheet.
